Subjuntivo Futuro

The futuro do subjuntivo expresses uncertain future actions and conditions, a tense that exists in Portuguese but has disappeared from Spanish and other Romance languages. Used after "quando" (when), "se" (if), "assim que" (as soon as), and "enquanto" (while) for future scenarios: "Quando você chegar, me ligue" (When you arrive, call me). Formation follows the imperfeito do subjuntivo base but with -r endings: falar→falar, falares, falar, falarmos, falarem. This tense is fundamental for discussing plans, making contingency statements, and expressing future conditions in everyday Brazilian and European Portuguese conversation.
